Gathering & Growing Disciples

Gathering and Growing Disciples

This team works to invite, welcome, and bring people into the community of God's grace... and to nurture people of all ages in discipleship.   It encompasses our ministries of education, fellowship, care, and evangelism as we seek to serve others in Christ's love.

Education ministry includes learning resources and events for all ages.  Sunday morning classes have typically been offered for all ages, with an opening of story and song for younger children and an adult class held in the conference room.  This has included a family Sunday School hour held on the first Sunday of the month, inviting parents and grandparents to join children in active learning events.  During this time of COVID-19 concerns, Family at-home VBS and Sunday School resources are being sent to our children.  Families of young children also receive a quarterly SPARK FAMILY magazine.

Mid-week and Saturday bible classes are offered for adults (in small group or by ZOOM).  A monthly women's bible study is also offered.   Confirmation and adult instruction is planned and led by pastor, aiming at youth in grades 7-9 (currently by ZOOM)

Welcome is extended to visitors and community as we reach out to make known that welcome in the community and follow up with visits.

Fellowship is planned by many groups in the congregation.  This team works to offer regular opportunities to gather for fun, creative activities, meals and service projects ... aiming to do "God's Work with Our Hands.'

Care ministries include our parish ministry program, reaching out to shut-ins and folks in need, sharing moments of joy and of sorrow, and supporting each other in the work of proclaiming God's love.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the scope of this ministry is as wide as the creative vision of disciples working together

in love for God and love for neighbor.
